WordPress as CMS is not a new idea. WordPress has a good guide to how it can be customized into a full fledged CMS.
More corporates have attempted to join the web 2.0 design band-wagon recently. TimesOnline tried and failed to properly implement RSS, one of the important feature of web 2.0.
They have editorials blogs like others. Not surprisingly they use a blog tool, Typepad, and they made a good effort to style it like the main site.
Why can’t we build a corporate website or even online newspaper using a blog tool like WordPress with some styling effort? Every article (post) can have readers’ comments and can be sociable via a bookmarking plugin. RSS is perfect. Even they can adopt the OpenID. Why not?
